The Berney Punchestown Race saddle is our cutting edge saddle for race riding and point to points. Made with our most premium vegetable tanned leather, this is a superb close contact race saddle designed to be used for steeple chase and exercise work. The Punchestown race saddle has a low profile flat seat that accommodates a jockeys jumping position. Our racing saddles are a standard size to give a correct thoroughbred fit. The flaps and skirts are made from the best quality vegetable tanned leather so that is strong and durable to endure everyday work. The saddle is fitted with buffalo hide girth straps. At Berneys we know how important it is to protect the comfort and welfare of the horse, especially their back so we flock our racing saddles with pure new wool because it is lightweight, shock absorbent and it moulds to the shape of the horses back. Another key feature of this material is that it spreads the weight of impact over a bigger surface area to ensure the horse has full use of itself.
